PassagePal is designed to help K-6 students practice reading through decodable passages. We comply with:

2. Information We Collect
Teacher Information
When teachers create an account, we collect:
- Full name
- Email address
- School or organization name (optional)
- Password (encrypted)
Student Information
When teachers create student accounts, we collect:
- Student first name and last initial
- Grade level
- Assigned phonics skills
- Reading progress and accuracy data
We do NOT collect: Student email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses, social security numbers, or photos.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide the PassagePal reading platform
- Track student reading progress
- Generate performance reports
- Personalize learning experiences
- Improve our service
Important: Student data is NEVER used for marketing, advertising, or creating user profiles for non-educational purposes.
4. How We Share Information
We do NOT sell, rent, or trade any personal information.
We may share data with:
- Teachers: Can view data for their assigned students
- Parents/Guardians: Can view their own child's data upon request
- Service Providers: Third parties who help operate PassagePal (e.g., cloud hosting, database services)
All service providers are contractually required to protect data and comply with COPPA and FERPA.
5. COPPA Compliance (Children Under 13)
PassagePal complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.
Parental Rights
Parents have the right to:

- Request deletion of their child's information

When an account is deleted:

- Backups are purged within 90 days
